So . . . I hate the About Page on websites. Mostly because they’re usually full of self-inflating babble and information no one really cares about. What I think people really want to know when they read an About Page is who the person really is under the hood. So let me try to give you some of that.

First of all, my Christian faith is my anchor, and Jesus Christ is my Lord, and the one who loves me more than anyone else. And before you roll your eyes and go off in search of another blog to read, let me just say that I try very hard not to be creepy, condescending, or to shove my faith down anyone’s throat. Because I don’t like that kind of crap anymore than you do (yes, this Christian occasionally says “crap”). But Jesus has done some great things in me and loves me deeply, and that love has changed me for the better. So yeah, that’s a big deal to me. I occasionally blog about some of that here.

The second most important part of my life is my family – my wife of 22 years and our almost 21 year old son (the math works out nicely, doesn’t it?). Oh, and our old dog whose name is Buddy but who we usually call Squitch (I can’t remember why) – he’s part of the family too. My family are the most important people in the world to me and I want them to always get my best.

Aside from that, I love nature and wild places and country living. I treasure spending time in the outdoors with friends and family – fishing, hunting, photographing, and simply enjoying the view. Oh yeah, I’m a photographer too. You can see my photography site here.

I love to laugh. I enjoy having my mind stretched, but I love simple truths. I treasure good books, good movies, and good songs, because they make me want to be a better person. And I cherish good friends who will love me even when I am a loser and a screw up!

I believe in grace and mercy, and that everyone deserves a second chance, a smile, a kind word, and a friend.

So there you go. Those are the things that make me tick. I hope I get to meet you some day, and I’m really glad you took the time to look at my site.
